Major Spanish cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao and Granada are the major places for a busy nightlife. Madrid is known as the nightclub capital of Spain. However, travelers must not forget that restaurants and other establishments only open after eight or nine o'clock in the evening. Most restaurants and night bars are open until the wee hours in the morning.

Most of the time, people start the night with el paseo or strolling through streets or along paseo maritimo in coastal resorts. Ibiza nightclubs are famous destinations for nightowls. Hip bars, pubs, restaurants can be found in the surrounding area of Plaza de Santa Barbara. Younger crowd prefer going to bars in Arguelles and Moncloa. If you are into live music and restaurants at reasonable cost, Malasana which is around Plaza de Dos de Mayo is the place for you. Fine restaurants and cafes can also be seen in Paseo de la Castellana, Paseo del Prado and Paseo de Recoletos.
