One of the main activities on Spain is soccer. It has been played in the country for hundreds of years already. Cycling and bullfighting are also popular in Spain. The Summer Olympics in 1992 was held in Barcelona, Spain. This has caused a great improvement in the country's sports infrastracture including water sports and skiing.

Bullfighting - involves the picador, banderillos and the matador or the bullfighter. Bullfighting in Spain is called corrida de toros or fiesta brava. The bullfighting months in Spain are March to October. The most distinguished bullfight in Spain is held during the fiesta of San Isidro in Madrid.

Football - This is the most played sport in the country. One of the world's strongest football division is La Liga and has clubs such as FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Valencia CF. Spain won the gold during the Summer Olympics in Barcelona.

Cycling - has long existed in Spain since the 1940s. The Tour of Spain is one of the most important cycling competition in the world.

Hunting - is a traditional activity in Spain. There are 2 types of hunting in the country: the small game hunting (rabbits and other small animals) and big game hunting (deers, boars and other big animals).

Golf - is now becoming a popular sports in Spain. There are many golf courses located in different parts of the country (San Roque Club, Club Golf de Sotogrande, Club de Golf Valderrama and Alcaideisa Links Golf Club). Spain was the host during the 1997 Ryder Cup.

Skiing - is now making its way as one of the popular Spanish sports nowadays. With Spain's improving economy, skiing has now become affordable. Skiing is one of the most preferred sports of the royal family. Skiing sites in Spain has been modernized during the last years.
