Internet Availability

According to Nielsen Net Ratings, there are 43.9% of internet users in Spain since January 2007 although there was a slight decrease in the ratings against several EU countries, particularly where ADSL is concerned.

Providing internet access to remote areas in Spain had been a problem in the country however, the European Commission has already approved plans proposed by the Spanish government to provide internet connection among remote areas in the country. Broadband internet or ADSL is available in most of Spain's urban areas. Comision del Mercado de las Telecomunicaciones regulates Internet usage in Spain.
