Internship in France is called "stage." Internships are usually offered for 2 to 6 months and is seldom longer than the specified time. Internship right after finishing a college degree is now becoming popular in France.

France is also known for international internships. Most foreign interns come to France to gain experience and at the same time to learn the language. Most French companies choose interns from other countries and consider it an advantage to have employees who speak a foreign language. A number of French universities offer internships with dormitory lodging.
