Studying in France

French education is one of the best in the world. The French Ministry of Education offers a high standard curriculum across the country.

An American who wishes to stay for 3 months in France to study can obtain a student "carte de sejour" (resident permit). The application must be processed by the Prefecture de Police of the city that you will be staying at. To get this privilege, a foreign student must be able to prove that he is planning to take 20 hours of classes per week.

For more information about studying in France, foreign students can consult the Centres d'information et de Documentation Jeunesse (Centers for youth information and documentation) or contact the nearest French Embassy in your area.
